The steam release and thermal shock resistance characteristics of Gold Star 21 and Gold Star XL enable complete cycles to be achieved in 6 hours or less as shown in the example. 

Limiting factors to the speed at which burnout can be achieved are the heat output of the furnace used and the number and size of flasks in any one firing.
